Darold Bowden

Darold Wayne Bowden was charged on August 22, 2018, with a series of sexual assaults that took place between 2006 and 2008 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The suspect in this case was known as the ‘Ramsay Street Rapist’ and the ‘Phantom of Ramsay Street’, as he operated near Ramsay Street in Fayetteville, where he has been linked to the home invasion rapes of six women.

The FGG investigation was conducted by Parabon Nanolabs.

Bowden has been involved with Neo-Nazi groups, and has been charged with over 70 criminal offences, none of which were serious enough to have his DNA sample taken. This has caused a push to increase the kinds of offences for which arrestee’s DNA can be collected and uploaded into CODIS.

In February of 2022, he entered a guilty plea in Cumberland County Superior Court and was sentenced to serve 29 years in prison.
