Forrest Williams

On March 10, 2023, the Anne Arundel County Police Department announced that Forrest Clyde Williams III is the lead suspect in the October 16, 1970 murder of 16-year-old Pamela Lynn Conyers in Millersville, Maryland. The case has been cleared by exception due to the death of Williams.

Conyers, a Glen Burnie High School student, disappeared after running an errand at the Harundale Mall. She left around 8:30 pm, and her parents reported her missing when she did not return home. Her car was found three days later near Mountain Road and Route 100. The next day her body was finally located in a nearby wooded area. The autopsy determined that she had died by strangulation.

The FGG investigation was conducted by Parabon Nanolabs in partnership with the Anne Arundel County Police Department and the FBI’s Baltimore Field Office.

Williams passed away from natural causes in 2018. He had a criminal record for only minor offences, such as being drunk and disorderly. Investigators have stated that there is no connection between this case and the similar 1969 murder of Sister Cathy Cesnik (the subject of the Netflix true crime documentary “The Keepers”), as has been speculated.

Investigators are asking the public to come forward with any information they may have about the events surrounding Conyer’s murder. They have not ruled out the possibility of other individuals being involved.
