Ivan Wayne Linebaugh was arrested on March 30, 2020 and charged in the April 25, 2000 sexual assault of a female in Madisonville, Texas. At the time of the assault, Linebaugh was a Madison County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Detective. The woman reported being sexually assaulted by an officer at a traffic stop, who threatened her with jail if she did not do as he wanted.
There is no information on who conducted the FGG investigation, but the FBI is reported as having assisted the Texas Rangers in this case.
In 2016, Linebaugh was a candidate for Madison County Sheriff. The case against him is currently pending in Madison County District Court.
