Jeffrey P. Fields, then 36, was arrested on July 21, 2020 for the rapes of four women at Pennsylvania State University between 2010 and 2017 in State College, Pennsylvania.
The first attack took place on August 22, 2010. A 20-year-old Penn State student was attacked in the Apple Valley area in the early morning hours.
A 19-year-old woman was attacked in the late-night hours on January 28, 2011, after leaving a party in the Fraternity Row area. She got into a vehicle with her assailant who promised her a ride home. He struck her in the face and then raped her.
A 20-year-old woman was attacked on April 3, 2011, while walking home. She was dragged into a bush area and hit and raped repeatedly. She was found unconscious in the bushes.
The fourth attach took place on July 16, 2017, when a 19-year-old woman was walking home and was attacked, pushed against a wall and raped. She then managed to escape her attacker.
DNA samples were collected from the victims at the hospital. The attacks were linked to a single perpetrator through a DNA profile developed from the sexual assault kits. There were no hits to the CODIS database. There is no data as to who performed the FGG investigation. The initial confirmation was made to the suspect’s parents. Fields is their only child.
Fields worked in the State College area. On March 10, 2022, Fields pled guilty to 14 charges in relation to the four assaults in Centre County Court. On July 8, 2022, Fields was sentenced to 29 years imprisonment for the rape of the four women.
