Johnathan Hurst was arrested on February 24, 2020 and charged in the August 14, 2016 murders of 64-year-old Robert Wilson and 85-year-old Patricia Wilson in Sycamore, Illinois. Mother and son were bludgeoned to death in the course of a violent home invasion robbery. Their car had been stolen but was recovered several days later only a short distance from Hurst’s Chicago residence.
The FGG investigation was conducted by Parabon Nanolabs, who earlier performed forensic phenotyping on the DNA profile taken at the crime scene.
Hurst has pled not guilty, and the case against him is pending in De Kalb County Criminal Court.
